Not the best for families
The staff was really pleasant and helpful. They even gave us a first-floor room since my wife needed it. Plus, I gotta say, the common areas like the reception and bar were surprisingly tidy and well-maintained!
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but it was still acceptable enough for our stay.

This hotel exceeded my expectations during my stay in mattoon. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The location was perfect
breakfast lacked variety and freshness.

missingWrote a review on 13 Augindoor atriumgreat showerrenovation issues
The indoor atrium offers a pleasant area to relax, with nice landscaping surrounding the pool area. The shower provides great pressure and reliably hot water, ensuring a refreshing experience after a long day.
The state of the hotel leaves much to be desired. Many rooms are in serious need of renovation, with old bedspreads showing visible wear. The hallways remain littered with debris like cigarette butts, and there’s no elevator, making it cumbersome to carry heavy items up the stairs. The breakfast options fell short, with limited choices such as stale cereal and juice served from store-bought cartons, which can raise concerns for cleanliness. Additionally, the lack of cable TV and functioning equipment in the workout facility is a disappointment.

Had a fantastic time with my friends! We visited the local parks and caught a game at Kinzel Field. The hotel had cable programming for our downtime. For future guests, just be ready for some quirks as cleanliness might not meet all expectations.
One issue was the state of the exterior doors as they seemed unsecured, which made me feel uneasy, even during our stay.

We had a nice time at Peterson Park with the kids. The location was perfect for our family, and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and spacious enough for my son and me. Easy access to local spots nearby made our trip enjoyable.
For dads, it would be great if the pool was open. My son was really looking forward to swimming during our stay, and it was disappointing to find it closed.

The indoor pool was fantastic for my kids. It kept them entertained for hours. The room felt cozy and had a home-like vibe. The beds were comfortable, and we definitely enjoyed that. However, the breakfast options were quite limited. Just some toast, cold cereal, and yogurt. I expected a bit more variety. The overall cleanliness was okay, but some areas could use a deeper clean. The staff was friendly and attentive, but the dining situation needs improvement. Would definitely consider coming back, but I hope for better breakfast options next time.

The room was clean, which is a plus. Had a comfy bed, but the noise from the pool was kind of loud. Breakfast options were not great—old food. Also slipped in the parking lot, and they didn’t really care about it when I reported it. Just felt a bit off overall.
